An investigation is underway after a Monterey Park Police Department shooting in East Los Angeles on Thursday, authorities said.
The shooting happened near Pomona and Atlantic boulevards close to the border of Monterey Park, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Details about what led up to the shooting were not immediately known.
It’s unclear if anyone was injured.
The LASD said deputies from the East LA Station responded to assist Monterey Park police following the shooting, but that the police department will be handling the investigation.
